Swanand Kirkire is a celebrated screenwriter, award-winning actor, lyricist, singer, and musician whose words and voice have shaped some of Indian cinema’s most iconic moments. He has penned unforgettable songs for films such as Parineeta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, Barfi, and more, and has lent his voice to acclaimed tracks in Masaan, Lootera, and Qala. A three-time National Award winner, Kirkire has been honored twice for Best Lyrics—for “Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh” (3 Idiots) and “Bande Mein Tha Dum” (Lage Raho Munna Bhai)—and once as Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Marathi film Chumbak.
