Susheela Raman is a London-born, globally acclaimed singer and composer known for her captivating voice and adventurous approach to music. Drawing from her South Indian roots and Australian upbringing, she blends an array of genres and collaborations, from Sufi Qawwals and Indian Classical to Javanese Gamelan and African rhythms. With eight albums to her name, including the Mercury-shortlisted Salt Rain, Susheela has earned recognition as someone blazing her own unique musical path. Described as “that rarity: a true original” by The Guardian, her performances often explore cross-cultural collaborations and deep music traditions in disruptive, transformative ways.
