A remarkable talent from Assam, Nilutpal Borgohain began his artistic journey at the age of eight, discovering poetry and soon pairing it with Indian classical vocal training. By his teens, he was performing across Assam, and at 16, a gifted guitar from his parents became the catalyst for his songwriting and creative expression. In 2015, he made his professional debut with the band Meraki, before embarking on a solo career marked by evocative compositions and a distinct musical voice. In 2022, he signed with independent label Sound Consequence, further amplifying his reach as a songwriter and performer. The following year, he co-founded NiiL, a dynamic trio with guitarist-composer Ronojoy Barooah and drummer-producer Angarag Phukan, where he leads as frontman. Today, Nilutpal continues to weave poetry and melody into powerful songs that reflect both his roots and his evolving artistic vision.
