Buried Treasures

India

Donyi ☀️ Stage

Created by the Lilanoor Ensemble, Buried Treasures is a cross-cultural journey where timeless fables from India and Europe are reimagined through music, theatre, puppetry, and poetry. Blending Hindustani and Western classical traditions with folk, Baroque, and contemporary sounds, the performance weaves together stories that feel both familiar and universal—brought to life with live visuals, shadow theatre, and improvisation. With artists from India and France, Buried Treasures has been staged at festivals and concert halls across Europe and India, often in collaboration with the Alliance Française, French Institute, and Goethe-Institut. Directed by soprano Harmonie Deschamps, sarodiya and vocalist Bhanu Sharma, alongside musicians Chayan Adhikari, Avik Roy, and puppeteer Mohammed Shameem, the ensemble creates a poetic space where cultures meet, reminding us of our shared humanity. This is storytelling with spirit—at once magical, musical, and deeply human.
