Signature Polo 🌙 Stage
Hailed as “incandescent Sufi voices that incite ecstasy” (Songlines), Barmer Boys are the torchbearers of the centuries-old Manganiyar traditions of Rajasthan. Known as global ambassadors of Rajasthani folk and Sufi music, the trio blends soulful kalaams, bhajans, and high-energy wedding songs with contemporary elements like beatboxing. Since their debut at the Amarrass Desert Music Festival in 2011, Barmer Boys have performed over 250 concerts across 25 countries, with acclaimed appearances at Roskilde, WOMAD, FMM Sines, Ancient Trance, Winnipeg Folk Festival, and Ziro Festival of Music. Their music has been featured on MTV Coke Studio, BBC, NPR, and more, with albums like Kesariya Balm debuting on the Transglobal World Music Charts Top 40. Now led by the powerful voice of Bhura Khan, alongside Magada Khan on dholak and Sawai Khan on morchang, bhapang, khartal, and beatboxing, Barmer Boys bring a bold, 21st-century spirit to ancient traditions. Whether evoking the divine or igniting a dance floor, theirs is folk with attitude—rooted in heritage, yet reimagined for the world stage.
