RAVANA is the New Delhi-based electronic project of producer, DJ and sampling artist Shravan Chellappa, whose work moves through drum & bass, jungle, breakcore, dub and spoken word. Known for repurposing archival speeches, forgotten voices, Bollywood fragments and political recordings, he builds dense, bass-heavy collages where electronic experimentation meets social commentary. Across more than two decades, RAVANA has released an extensive catalogue exploring figures and voices ranging from Mirza Ghalib to marginalised communities, often using sampling as a form of reinterpretation. His 2019 Amarrass Records album Dubfounded, created with Rajasthani Jogi folk poet Jumme Khan, fused reggae, dubstep, drum & bass and blues across six tracks.
