The Chingleipak Collective is a Manipur-based music and cultural initiative founded in 2025 to bring together folk musicians and artists from the state’s diverse communities. Created in response to years of ethnic violence and displacement, the Collective uses music as a space for dialogue, healing and solidarity. Its 2025 collaboration Ringmanase Kanamni: Together in Peace united artists from eight communities across Manipur in a shared call for coexistence and reconciliation. The project draws on folk traditions, storytelling and cultural memory while creating new work through collaboration. Its 10-member ensemble includes vocalists, guitarists, drums, pena, violin, bass and keys, with Akhu Chingangbam among its core members. At Ziro, The Chingleipak Collective brings together multiple voices from Manipur in a performance rooted in heritage, memory and the possibility of listening across difference.
