Sneha Khanwalkar is an Indian composer and music director from Indore whose work has reshaped the possibilities of contemporary film music. Known for recording sounds outside conventional studios, she blends folk traditions, field recordings, electronic production and unexpected voices into richly textured compositions. Her breakthrough scores for Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Gangs of Wasseypur established her as one of India’s most distinctive musical voices, with the latter making her only the second woman nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. She also conceptualised and hosted MTV’s Sound Trippin’, travelling across India to turn everyday sounds and regional musicianship into original tracks. Her work spans cinema, television and experimental projects. At Ziro, expect curiosity turned into sound, where the familiar is dismantled, sampled and rebuilt into something entirely new.
