Shanka Tribe is an organic trance and world-music collective from Kozhikode, Kerala, blending ancestral rhythms, global instrumentation and electronic energy into immersive live performances. At the heart of their sound is the shankh (conch shell), whose call opens their performances as a symbol of awakening and collective focus. From there, didgeridoo, oud, handpan, djembe, darbuka, morchang, flute, guitars, bass and synthesizers come together in a constantly evolving rhythmic landscape. Their music moves effortlessly from earthy and meditative to euphoric and dancefloor-ready. Releases including “When Nature Calls,” “Travelling Gypsies” and the UMOJA EP have established Shanka Tribe as one of India’s most exciting organic trance acts.
