Sun☀️ Stage

Apoorva Krishna is an award-winning Carnatic violinist and composer whose music brings the depth of Indian classical tradition into conversation with world music, contemporary composition and improvisation. Rooted in Carnatic music but unafraid to cross musical boundaries, she has developed a distinctive voice that is both technically accomplished and deeply expressive. The violin is at the heart of her work, serving as both a link to tradition and a vehicle for exploration. Her music moves naturally between composed passages and improvisation, allowing classical structures to meet contemporary and global influences. Apoorva has collaborated and shared the stage with artists including Zakir Hussain, John McLaughlin, Michael League, Shankar Mahadevan, Vijay Prakash and Varijashree Venugopal. At Ziro, she presents an immersive set built around her original compositions—a meeting point of Carnatic tradition, improvisation and contemporary musical imagination.
