Naledi Chai / Loving Parents
South Africa
Star ⭐ Stage
Naledi Chai is a Johannesburg-based DJ and multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between music, filmmaking, sculpture, sound design, archival research and experimental performance. Also known behind the decks as Loving Parents, she treats sound as something to collect, distort and reassemble, bringing field recordings, noise, archival fragments and electronic textures into unexpected combinations. Her practice explores memory, geography, technology and the histories embedded in sound. As Loving Parents, these ideas enter the dance floor through sets that move freely between experimental electronics, South African musical archives, noise, rhythm and found sound. Chai is also part of Circuit Mixers, the international exchange connecting artists from South Africa, Switzerland and India. After chapters in Johannesburg and Montreux, the project now arrives at Ziro. Expect a DJ set that might begin as music, become an archive and end somewhere entirely unexpected. Performing at Ziro Festival at the Star Stage on 27 September 2026 from 10:00 pm – 11:00 pm.
